What should I do if I smell gas?
If you smell gas: do not turn on or off any electrical switches or appliances, do not use a phone inside the building, extinguish any naked flames, open windows and doors, and leave the building immediately. What gas work requires a licensed gas fitter?
In Queensland, all gas work on fixed gas installations must be carried out by a licensed gas fitter. This includes installing or modifying gas lines, connecting gas appliances to a fixed supply, repairing gas leaks, replacing gas meters or regulators, and installing gas hot water systems or cooktops.
Do you issue gas compliance certificates?
Yes. A Certificate of Compliance is issued for all regulated gas work and is required under Queensland legislation. This certificate is important for insurance purposes, property transactions and body corporate records.
